Suma holds a Bachelor’s of Shari’ah and Law with honours from the Maldives National University. She has been admitted to the Bar of Maldives and is currently working as an Attorney-at-Law, Associate at SHC Law & Tax LLP. 

Suma was part of the first Maldivian team that competed at the 27th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration. She also received a honorable mention for the respondent memorandum submitted to the 17th Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition. In 2021, Suma became the first Maldivian to compete at the ICYF Model OIC International Summit and be selected among the best delegates.

She has coached several teams for the Vis Moot throughout the years. She also coached the first ever Vis Moot team of Jamia Millia Islamia to the semi-finals of the 2022 ACIC Vis Pre Moot.
