Webinar on the Basics of Arbitration
Maldives Moot Court Society (MMCS) is a non-governmental organisation committed to strengthen the rule of law and connect like minded leaders. To further our efforts, we have launched a webinar series and below is our second webinar. The webinar is on the ‘Basics of Arbitration’ and is presented by Mr. Akash Gupta.
Mr. Akash Gupta, is an assistant professor in Jindal Global Law School. He teaches Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) courses in Jindal Global Law School. Mr. Akash is also the Assistant Editor for Indian Review of International Arbitration, Peer Review Board Member for Indian Arbitration Law Review and Faculty Advisor for Mapping ADR.
He has also co-headed the organising committee for the 24th Annual Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition, India National Rounds and 10th Indian Willem C. Vis Pre-Moot, organised by Jindal Global Law School.
In addition to academia, Mr. Akash Gupta has been appointed as an Arbitrator and a Conciliator in several commercial disputes.
Mr. Akash Gupta completed LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration Law from Stockholm University. During the LL.M. programme, he participated in the Vis Moot and emerged as Top 16 out of 372 teams from all over the world and received an Honourable Mention for the Best Memorandum for Claimant. He graduated from Tamil Nadu National Law University in 2018. During B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) He was awarded the Colin J. Wall Spirit of the Moot Award at 13th Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Hong Kong. Out of approximately 1000 students, he was awarded the 1st Ram Jethmalani Academic Excellence Awards 2018 for Students in the Moot Category.
